About the Vault

The Vault started after the winter of 2022, when a broken update wiped three valleys and nobody had a copy older than a week. Since then the realm is copied every night and kept for a year.

Who can get in

Any settler with an active name in the realm. There's no separate sign-up; if you can walk into the Low Camp, you can open the Vault.

What's kept

Nightly world snapshots, the full set of map tiles the cartographers render each week, and recordings of the Saturday market. Private messages and camp boards are never copied.

Who pays for it

A handful of settlers chip in for the storage. If downloads slow down at the start of a season, that's everyone pulling the same snapshot at once; it settles within a day.
