Restoring a snapshot

Snapshots are full copies of the realm at the moment the nightly copy ran. You can load one into a local world to look around, rebuild something you lost, or settle an argument about where the old ford used to be.

Pick the right one

Each snapshot is numbered by in-world day. If you remember the season but not the day, the ledger lists both. Market nights are marked because they tend to be the busiest copies.

Download and unpack

Snapshots come as a single compressed archive, usually a little over two gigabytes. Unpack it into the worlds folder of your client and start it in offline mode. Nothing you do there touches the live realm.

Bringing things back

You can't copy items from a snapshot into the live world yourself. If you lost a camp to a bug or a bad storm, note the snapshot number and ask a gatekeeper at the market. They restore single camps, never whole valleys.
